I had my first, and only, baby when I was 44. 3 years, 5 rounds of IVF, 2 egg donors and 1 sperm donor later. Easy peasy 🤣. I’m 56 now and my son just turned 12. I was, and still am, in the same situation as all my friends have teens, college students or grads. I’m not sure if Meetup.com is a thing where you are, but that’s how I found a local moms and babies group. We met in a nearby park when the weather was good, and rotated apartments or building playrooms in the winter (I’m in NYC). It really saved my sanity until I enrolled my son in daycare at 18 months. We remained a pretty tight group until our kids started kindergarten in different schools. Imagine the nerve of the kids actually making their own friends and wanting playdates with them 🤣. Be prepared to become your child’s social secretary starting around 5-6 years old. Feel free to ask me anything, I really am an open book 📖.

Thank you for sharing your story and connecting! This can be such a private thing and its nice to know that behind all the hush hush infertility issues are more common than realized. I appreciate your recommendation and will probably totally take you up on advice :D

This is so very beautiful. Thank you Bex.

Behind my big family there's so much loss, including my stillborn daughter. I hope we can keep in touch.

I'm doing the audio challenge too btw ;)
